The changes will primarily affect the requirements for migrants in Canada who will benefit from improved employment conditions. Temporary workers will be allowed to change employers upon arrival in Canada if they continue to work in the same industry.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thus, the work permit obtained will no longer be dependent on a particular employer. Instead, employers who have no violations in the employment of temporary residents will be able to obtain LMIAs with validity for 2 years.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Attracting temporary residents to work in Canada is designed to fill the shortage of workers on farms, meat processing plants, fish processing and food processing enterprises. Obtaining a job offer to Canada from abroad was strictly regulated by the Government of Canada, which required proof of the impact on the Canadian labour market, set requirements for the countries from which the employees were to come, the number of employees from abroad, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"#\">Free consultation<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The proposed changes to the employment of foreign workers follow the decision to introduce limits on the number of temporary residents in Canada starting in autumn 2024. The discussed innovations will include the introduction of employment requirements for a period of 2 years in each industry and separate requirements for employment for a period of more than 2 years. In addition, the average salary in Canada for temporary residents will take into account housing prices, and the requirements for housing for temporary workers (if provided by the employer) will change.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The proposed changes will still be subject to approval and discussion. The final version of the innovations is expected to be adopted by the end of 2024. Instead, the changes will be introduced gradually starting in 2025, and the final transition to the new requirements for migrants in Canada will take place in 2027.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the coming months, Employment and Social Development Canada will hold additional negotiations with the countries whose citizens most often come to Canada as temporary residents for work and with whose authorities bilateral agreements on this issue have been signed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the same time, the policy of attracting temporary residents to Canada continues to change. Starting from 1 May 2024, LMIAs will be valid under standard conditions for 6 months, instead of 12 months as before.
