In the CELPIP General format, there are four parts waiting for you:

• Listening takes about 47 minutes
• Reading takes up to 55 minutes
• Writing takes about 53 minutes
• Speaking takes up to 20 minutes

The whole exam lasts just under three hours, with no need to come back several times, and is taken in one day.

Assessment

CELPIP is scored on a scale from 1 to 12 points in each section. The score you need to get depends on the specific immigration or professional program. However, most often it is enough to score 7 points or more to meet the requirements.
