What is Express Entry?

Program Express Entry of Canada is a universal tool for moving to Canada for permanent residence. A person from any part of the world receives an invitation to immigrate if he or she receives the required number of points. The invitations are drawn at selections that are held dozens of times throughout the year. It is easy to immigrate under this system if professional and personal achievements meet Canadian priorities. 

Requirements for Express Entry candidates

Registration and participation in the Express Entry points-based system involves overcoming the minimum qualifying threshold of requirements. There are several pathways that come together with the following common factors:

1. English language proficiency, which is supported by an IELTS or CELPIP or PTE Core certificate to level 5 or higher. The required level depends on the profession’s qualifications and work experience.
2. Work experience in the profession. Any skilled work is suitable for registration. Experience is taken into account for full-time and part-time employment. The minimum required amount of experience is a full 1 year of work. 
3. The level of education is taken into account after the evaluation. This applies to education received outside of Canada. The higher the level of education, the higher the points awarded. 
4. Additional points are awarded for a confirmed level of French, relatives with permanent status in Canada, if the spouse has education, confirmed official languages, etc.

How does the Express Entry system work?

It can be said that Express Entry is a points-based system and, in a way, works like an addition formula. The maximum number of points you can get is 1200. But the average score is enough to receive an invitation. Candidates are considered among all registered applicants during the selection process. Such selections are held in several main streams: general, provincial, priority and French-speaking. Immigration invitations are given to those who have the highest scores among all those registered in a particular stream under Express Entry Canada. 

General selection involves drawing lots of potential immigrants among all those registered. During these draws, invitations can receive executives, managers, financiers, etc. 

An important factor in the selection of Express Entry candidates is the priority sectors of the economy. Attracting employees to certain sectors of the economy is a matter of exceptional importance. 

At present, skilled trade occupations (carpenters, plasterers, roofers, etc.), engineering and mathematical specialists (mechanics, IT specialists, etc.), agricultural workers (farm workers, meat cutters), healthcare and education specialists will receive invitations first. Express Entry categories

The overall system is divided into 3 Express Entry programs, depending on the occupation and work experience gained outside or in Canada.

• Federal Skilled Trades – for workers in skilled trades. 
• Federal Skilled Worker – for highly skilled professionals, managers, and executives with work experience abroad. 
• Canadian Experience Class is a point-based pathway for those with local Canadian work experience. 

There are additional factors that increase the number of points, facilitate faster selection, or improve chances. These include having local Canadian certificates, licenses or completed education, a job offer from a Canadian employer, an immigration invitation from a province, etc.
